Here we have some useful information for vacating a property at the end of the lease.

A final inspection cannot take place until you have moved all of your belongings out of the property and returned the keys.

• Ensure that the office has your new forwarding address and phone number
• You pay rent until the vacating date in cash or by automatic payment
• Return all key to the office including letterbox keys
• Arrange disconnection of your telephone, electricity and gas supply
• Re-direct all mail to your new address

Assistance with the following will save considerable time and prevent unnecessary delays in returning your bond:

• Property is left in a clean and tidy condition throughout and that carpets are cleaned by a competent tradesperson
• All shelves and drawers and benches are clean
• Walls and doors to be cleaned of all marks
• Stove, griller and oven to be cleaned inside and outside
• Windows and window sills to be cleaned inside and outside
• Exhaust fans to be cleaned in all areas
• Any furniture, curtains or other items included with the property to be left in the original condition
• Clean any window treatment, blinds etc
• All garbage, bottles and rubbish to be removed from the premises
• Bathrooms to be thoroughly cleaned of mould and soap scum removed from tiles and grouting
• Toilets must be cleaned inside and outside
• Garage or storeroom to be cleaned and free of cobwebs and grease marks removed from car space
• Lawns and gardens to be left in a tidy condition, weeded and paths swept
